In Bali (India), the international conference on climatic changing is closing today. Representatives from 190 countries has negotiated during 2 weeks about agreements that will replace those signed in Kyoto in 1997. One more time, United States was blamed. It was also the time for developing countries to request help from richest countries to fight against consequences of warming.

What are the effects of Global Warming in Cambodia?

One the main problem is the unusual and unpredicted fluctuation of Mekong water level. It is the poorest family who just cultivate for their own consumption who are the most penalized by this phenomenon. Many rice fields closed to Mekong got a very poor yield. People have to delay plantation waiting for water level to decrease. When finally done, they have seen everything destroyed by water level increasing. And this happened again and again.

Some NGO like Oxfam have provided bikes and fishing boats to allow people to find other resources to feed their family.
