Artsy, I can see how this would impact you so much but what I'd like to say is that it is happening right here in our own country. Child abuse of every kind and the worst human failure of ours is Darfur. Children die by the hundreds for lack of food and medicine. Baby boys are killed by having their private parts cut off. This has been going on since 2002 and NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING.
WE NEED TO BOYCOT ANYTHING FROM CHINA BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWING THIS ALL TO HAPPEN FOR WHAT, OIL, YES OIL it always comes down to money and for that millions have been killed and yet no one cries for the dead babies and the raped Mothers who cry over their dead husband's bodies. We all need to talk about it, NOT AGAIN, isn't working, DARFUR is happening and won't stop till we all say NO MORE KILLING.

This is so very sad.. you see things like this taking place and you know that they are, but yet people here still compalin about having to work at all.. people sometimes tend to expect to be taken care of and not have to work, yet here are children .. children the ages of my own children having to do hard work.. Things like these just go to show how thankful we all should be for everything we have even if it's not much.

We think we are helpless to intervene in this type of thing. In reality in changing our consumer habits we are able to change regional poverty.
Be aware of where each and every purchase you make. Who are you supporting and what is that person or companies role in the community in which they operate.
These kids are exploited due to the ignorance of all, not just those that enslave them.

THIS IS REALLY SAD THAT THOSE POOR LITTLE KIDS HAVE TO WORK AND GET TREATED LIKE THIS. THEY NEED TO END CHILD LABOR ASAP.

This is truly tragic, thank you for bringing this to light.
God bless all the children.

These poor children as well as the children in Darfur and other places where they are treated as nothing but 'worker bees' with little value is wrong. We have to take a strong stand - through our purchases, through our voices, through our pens, through sharing the information. Thank you for doing your part. Your poem is powerful yet beautiful and poignant. The video is heartbreaking with it's sadness and resignation.

She offered me to post one of my best poems that would fit into this situation. After watching the Cambodian Child Labor movie, it devastated me. Considering I have friends who used to live there as a child, even thinking about that, kills me.

Here is the poem, I had made in the past time, and I hope this creates encouragement to help these children in Cambodia.

Decisions

If we had a choice
Between life and death
Would it make us rejoice
Or would it be another lifeless breath?

If we had to choose
To die now or live eternity
Would you say your last goodbyes
To see the next life that God has for thee?
Or would you live to see
What lies beneath the words from someone who dies?

If you had to choose
Between watching someone die as you are able to do nothing.
And to kill that someone who is doing everything that's something.
Would you do it?
If you had nothing to lose
But your life?

If you were chosen to save
Would you save a child from a burning house?
Or would you be a little less brave
And pass it to go to Europe with a free browse?

Would you do things that you normally wouldn't do
Live to see the world at its end
Save a young heart from the massive truth?
To watch yourself lose a best friend?
Tell me, would you?

Our children are so privileged and they don't even realize it.

I work long hours and for little pay
and I get up early to start each day.
The time goes by and I'm filled with pain,
still I can't stop working, I've too much to gain.
But I am a child.

Do other people suffer and dread each day?
Do they go to bed weary and get up the same way?
Do they face constant danger with no choice at all?
Do they help make bricks in their own personal wall?
But I am a child.

Aren't children God's blessing and supposed to bring love?
Aren't they full of laughter and joy from above?
So, why is MY life so filled with despair?
And why do I feel there's no one to care?
When I am a child.

My body grows old and my mind grows numb,
With no education, am I doomed to be dumb?
And where are the adults to take care of me?
They sent me to work in the brick factory.
And I am a child.

This is sad, they don't get to leave their childhood as other kids... Thank you, this video is a good step in the direction to help spreading the word about this.
